Fields and Firebirds

This was supposed to be a rice field, but I didn't exactly know how to draw the rice stalks. It came out looking like wheat instead.

I called those little chubs firebirds because of their color.

Disclaimer: the following text/story is purely fictional.

Firebirds are the little relatives of phoenixes. They also are born from the fire. But like Superman, they need the sun for energy. They don't eat worms. Worms are gross. They eat rice grains because it is full of carbohydrates. They burn the carbs afterwards...LITERALLY. Sometimes when they become too careless and aggressive during metabolism, firebirds cause forest fires. When the sun sets and the moon takes its turn at the sky, firebirds take a rest. Fireflies take their light from sleeping firebirds.

I know it's a lousy story. I'm not really good at making up myths.

This illustration was featured in the maiden issue of Imagine Publishing's Digital Artist magazine.
I could have bought a copy if they had also distributed here, but you can grab-and-turn-the-page of a sample here.

Cherry Trees

I haven't actually seen cherry trees yet, but I do dream of seeing at least one.

It looks more like an illustration of my recent peculiar affinity to different shades of peach and pink.

Noah's Dove

Doves would look cooler if they were colored, don't you think?

But I feel like Chirpy looks more like a chicken than a bird.

Preserve trees, preserve nature, give the future generation a legacy.
